Did you ever show up, all cutie-fied, on time, ready for action... and nobody else was there?
I went to work yesterday, AND NO ONE WAS THERE!
The building was locked. The parking lot was empty. Where is everybody?
I came home, checked the email in-box, checked the messages on both phones, triple read the calendar, quadruple read the school calendar. Nada.
I can't decide if it was an episode of Candid Camera or The Twilight Zone.
I want to ask somebody if there was a memo I missed. Also, I can't decide who to ask so as not to look like a complete idiot.
Maybe you could ask someone in a nonchalant way, "So...did YOU go to work yesterday?" or "What did YOU do yesterday?" Take the focus off of yourself. No one will be the wiser. Except maybe the internet, but I don't think it'll spill the beans.
ReplyDeleteWeird!
ReplyDeleteOne time I was getting ready to go to work on a Friday morning and found my mom outside doing yard work. I asked if she was skipping work today. She looked at me like I was crazy and said that it was Saturday. We argued about it for a few minutes, but it was indeed Friday. She was horrified and called her office to say she would be in late... So funny.
Once I had people over and while I was busy doing something in the kitchen they all disappeared from the deck off around the corner of the house someplace. I was standing on the deck alone and looking nonplused when my sister reappeared and asked me, "What, did you think you had missed the Rapture?"
ReplyDeleteDid you ever find out?
ReplyDeleteYes! There was a memo... but I didn't read it because I had lost my keys. Sigh.
