Speaking of Quitting

I am taking a bloggy break until January.

The next few months will be taken up with the following:
  • Gigantic career and life decisions.
  • NaNoWriMo! Jumping into book two! If you want to be buddies, my user name is "bdubs."
  • Writing project for a friend.
I'm not fasting from the Internet, as in past years. I will still be around. Social Media! Priorities, people.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

Because I love you, I will leave you with some new Iron & Wine. Album coming in January! Whoo!

I See You

This (poorly written) sentence has been sitting in my drafts folder for years:
The worst part of being a stay-at-home mom is being invisible.
It sounds so self-indulgent and whiny. I never had the courage to add to it.
However, I think there is a reason I never had the courage to delete it, either.

I. Just. Want. Somebody. To. See. Me.

That was my truth... for a very long time. I could not delete it because it was true.

I am so thankful somebody did. I am so thankful that it (IT, life, everything) turns out not to be about me... being seen is not a worthy goal.

Seeing someone else... that is a worthy goal.

I think of Jesus... who saw the sick, the children, the poor, the sinful.

Except. Except. He saw without all those labels I just used.

HE SAW. He saw everyone the world pretended not to see... the people who were uncomfortable to see... the invisible.

NOT INVISIBLE
